Richard Janke

advisor

Richard graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a minor in Business. Richard began his career in the financial industry in 2004 with Fidelity Investments as an option trader. This fueled him to obtain his CFP credentials and to start helping clients maintain their financial independence through sound objective advice. An advisor to many independent business owners, Rich is passionate in helping them achieve and maximize their financial potential. Today he is still as excited about his work as he was the first day he started.  Rich’s passions include supporting his kids in their sports, hiking, and paddle boarding rivers throughout Utah.

Mark Matley

Principal

Being a team player isn’t just a catchphrase to The Insight Group co-founder Mark Matley. A former member of the BYU Volleyball team, Mark knows what it means to work hard and to build a competent team around you. Mark graduated magna cum laude in Economics, began his career as an analyst on Wall Street, and eventually channeled his love for finance into a new business venture, The Insight Group. Seeing a gap in the marketplace for a wealth management firm that was focused on advice not sales, Mark and his business partner, Paul Salisbury, set out to build a unique and personalized experience for clients that delivered a level of service well beyond the norm. For over two decades Mark has dedicated his career to helping select clientele achieve their personal vision of success. His ability to provide sound counsel to clients on a wide variety of topics both financial and non-financial is a rare talent in the industry. Mark’s other great passion is his family – he is married with three daughters. He enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, and travelling. Mark and his family reside in Holladay, Utah.

Brett Caldwell

director of planning

When Brett Caldwell doesn’t know the answer to something himself, he knows how to search out the right solution. It’s a trait that pays off for him at home when seeking out DIY skills—as well as being a great asset to the Financial Insight Center. Responsible for training and providing research support to the company’s advisors, Brett holds regular instruction on the industry’s latest tax, estate, and retirement issues. A former accountant, Brett is an excellent resource for related questions from clients or advisors. He loves digging into obscure topics; we love the fact he finds answers every time.

Suzanne Mickelson

office manager

Suzanne’s career has been exclusively in the financial services industry which lends to her strong background in customer service and office administration.  As a member of the Financial Insight Center team she oversees the day to day operations of the office.  One of her top priorities is to make sure clients feel that they are important and valued by the firm by being timely and responsive to their needs.  She is always there to support the firms advisors by providing assistance to them in any capacity.  Suzanne enjoys spending time with her two children.

Amanda Noxon

administrative assistant

Amanda Noxon greets everyone who comes to Financial Insight Center in a warm, professional manner.  While she is new to the Financial Services Industry, she has over 10 years of customer service experience, including a lead front desk position at a medical clinic.  Advisors at the firm rely on Amanda’s attention to detail, and she in turn values their trustworthy reputation. Amanda served an 18 month church mission in Chile and is fluent in Spanish.  She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Ryan Krantz

operations manager

If clients never meet Ryan Krantz, it may be because he’s doing his job so well. As Operations Manager, his goal is to help advisors spend their time working on plans and interfacing with people because he has taken care of everything else. Ryan has a degree in Finance and worked in the life insurance business, but he first found his operations calling in entrepreneurial ventures. He started three companies, eventually selling two of them; much of their growth and success due to Ryan's foresight and ability to add automation and streamline logistics. He aims to do much of the same at The Insight Group where he supports the company's marketing, database system, governance programs and compliance efforts.

Cherie Child

administrative assistant

She loves to read and is a stickler for details. That combination has kept her from seeing more than the first Harry Potter movie (too many fine points are missing!), but it keeps her in high standing at the Financial Insight Center. Providing administrative support in the Logan office, Cherie loves being the first point of contact for clients, making them comfortable with technical processes, and (of course) reading documentation to ensure every detail is covered.

  • THE INSIGHT RETIREMENT CLARIFIER™

    Summary

A personal approach is the hallmark of excellence at the Financial Insight Center. We back that up with our carefully constructed investment approach.

    Objective portfolios

Based on a method that has been coined “financial science,” the Financial Insight Center employs an academic approach built on proprietary research from the University of Chicago. Our portfolio construction is reasoned and precise, with performance that demonstrates its efficacy.

    Low cost implementation

Being true to our role as advisors, not salespeople, the Financial Insight Center assists clients with commission-free investments. Even more important in the long run, expenses for our portfolios hover near 0.2% — significantly less than the industry average by about 85%. Savings in fees alone create a tremendously positive impact on long-term investments.

    Tax efficiency

The Financial Insight Center places a premium on making investments as tax efficient as possible. Our principled methods implement no fuzzy rationale or “secret sauce.” Just a team of knowledgeable advisors who put an inordinate amount of time and attention into the details of tax management. As a result, our clients enjoy significantly more cost-effective returns. It’s a tremendously powerful way to increase yield without increasing risk.

    Exquisite Control

Many advisors include an online management component with their services. But few put it to work like the Financial Insight Center. Providing a real-time, comprehensive view of your wealth, our proprietary financial platform becomes invaluable to your planning. By running any variable for any scenario, our system-savvy advisors effectively demonstrate the impact your decisions can make on your portfolio and goals.
